From a young age, I've enjoyed helping others. Early on, helping involved being a strong listener and offering compassion and encouragement. A desire to become more effective at helping led me to pursue the education needed to become a Psychologist. I began studying Psychology in 1994 as an undergraduate at Penn State University. In 2005, I completed a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology also from Penn State.
I moved to Baltimore in 2007, appreciating the similar community feel and culture to my hometown of Pittsburgh. I was hired as Towson University's Eating Disorder Services Coordinator, helping college students address eating and body image concerns and providing Mindfulness workshops, groups. I was promoted to Director of Clinical Services at Towson in 2012, overseeing all psychotherapy and emergency services, as well as coordinating Mindfulness and Meditation Services. I left Towson University in 2015 to focus on my private psychotherapy practice.
I opened my private practice in 2007 where my clinical work has focused on helping college students and adults. As a therapist, I am empathic, encouraging and challenging, assisting clients in making changes. I offer more than just a good listening ear, providing suggestions and strategies for addressing your struggles. I use a variety of proven approaches, best knowledge, and experience to help clients. We will work as a team, collaborating on improving your well being. Your needs are unique so the treatment approach will be tailored to you. Treatment approaches include Cognitive Behavioral, Interpersonal/Psychodynamic, and Mindfulness/Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy.

Our busy lives can pull us out of the present moment, creating anxiety. Mindfulness helps people develop greater awareness and compassion. I am trainined in Mindfulness, Mindful Self-Compassion, and Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy. I've led Mindfulness Workshops and Groups for years, and incorporate these strategies into my work with individual clients. Beginning in 2022, I began offering MBCT groups. My daily practice helps keep me grounded and present as a therapist
